Three people are dead and seven more are injured after a gunman opened fire at a cinema in Louisiana.
The man, described as an 'older white male', started shooting during a screening of 'Trainwreck' at the Grand 16 Theater in Lafayette.
Police confirmed that three people are dead while seven more are injured, three of whom are in critical condition.
Lafayette Police Chief Jim Craft said officers were checking the scene for explosives.
The attack comes as the trial of Aurora shooter James Holmes comes to a close.
A jury found Holmes guilty and agreed the crime merited the death penalty.
Holmes' defence now has the option to argue mitigating circumstances.
