A 16-year-old male in the US shot a man on a Green Line train after the train stopped at the Anacostia Metro station Tuesday, Metro Transit Police said.
The 16-year-old and 19-year-old Andre Broadie have been charged with assault with intent to kill in connection to the shooting. MTPD will request that the 16-year-old is tried as an adult.
The investigation into the shooting is ongoing, but it appears the shooting stemmed from either a robbery or an attempted robbery, according to a police source.
The shooting occurred at around 12:45 p.m. Tuesday. Officials say the victim, 24, has been released from the hospital.
According to police, the 16-year-old suspect provided false information to police and originally said he was 15-years-old.
