Woman hammers kids over hubby's mistress

A heartbroken wife of five years in Extension 2 in Wesselton near Ermelo, Mpumalanga, has apparently killed her two kids and herself because her husband was cheating on her.

She had pleaded with her husband, Isaac Kwangari, to come home but he reportedly refused and after killing her children she threw herself in front of a speeding car.

The bodies of the children were found by their father when he came home on Wednesday morning.

Eight-month-old Dignity and her four-year-old sister, Sherlyn, had been beaten to death with a hammer.

Isaac, a 28-year-old Zimbabwean national told cops he had spent the night with his mistress, despite his wife begging him to return home.

He came home on Wednesday at about 6.45am.

Sergeant Gerald Sedibe of the cops told Daily Sun: "His wife, Talent Muchara (26), was not home but his two kids were still neatly tucked in bed, seeming to be fast asleep.

"Then he noticed the bloodied hammer lying on the floor. He rushed to the kids on the bed and opened the blankets. He discovered that the kids were dead, both from serious head wounds."

It seemed the kids were attacked in their sleep and were neatly covered with blankets. Isaac alerted the cops, who arrived to find neighbours already gathered in the yard.

But then, just 60 metres away, the body of a woman was discovered next to the N11 highway.

Cops took Isaac to the scene and he identified the dead woman as Talent, the mother of his murdered kids.

"It is suspected the woman walked into an oncoming car and was killed in a hit-and-run incident," said Sedibe.

"Two cases of murder and one of culpable homicide are being investigated."

A neighbour who did not want to be named said the mistress was not Isaac's first and he had allegedly cheated on Talent ever since bringing her to South Africa four years ago.

"This woman has had to deal with one nyatsi after another, and her husband did not bother to hide his cheating ways," she said.

"Talent always felt that he brought her to South Africa just to humiliate her. She wanted to go back to Zimbabwe many times, but he refused to give her the money."

Yesterday both Isaac and his mistress were detained by the Ermelo cops to be questioned.
