31-year-old Nhlanhla Mthembu from Vosloorus in Ekurhuleni said before he went to prison it would give him pleasure to break up marriages, make people lose their jobs or even cause death.

He said even as a boy he was always naughty. And in 2009 he was sent to prison for 10 years for armed robbery.

Nhlanhla claims he also had evil powers. "When I was sent to prison I couldn't stop the evil," he said. "I tortured my fellow inmates in many mysterious ways and nobody knew I was doing it."

Nhlanhla said his parents chased him out of the house many years ago and he has been staying with his relatives since being released on parole in 2012. But Nhlanhla said still he hadn't learnt his lesson.

"One day a gang attacked me and beat me up. I escaped and went home to fetch my firearm and shot one of the men."



He said the man survived and has made peace with him but a traditional healer from his own family opened a case against him and he was arrested.

Now he says he is cursed and is being tortured.

"When I am sleeping I see things flying around my room," said the desperate man.

"I need help from professionals. They must remove these evil spirits from me."

"I don't know why would somebody feel I'm a threat. I'm on parole and trying to avoid crime," he said."Why would anybody want to curse me with flying objects in my bedroom?"
