'Evil spirits cause man to destroy rail property'

34-year-old Nhlanhla Donga from Tshabalala, Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, has blamed evil spirits after he went berserk and destroyed 14 rail signal lights belonging to the National Railways of Zimbabwe (NRZ).
He told Bulawayo magistrate Charity Maphosa that he was possessed by his ancestors who cause him to be violent.
Maphosa remanded Donga out of custody to October 9 and ordered that he be examined by two medical doctors to ascertain his mental status.
When asked why he vandalised the signal lights, Donga said: "I was possessed by evil spirits; sometimes ancestral spirits come into me."
