A woman from Rochdale, Queens, US, allegedly used a meat cleaver to hack her aunt to death in their shared home.
Elizabeth Sanchez, 30, was charged with murdering Maria Palaguachi, 50, in the family's two-story home.
Sanchez faces 25 years to life in prison, said Queens District Attorney Richard Brown.
Authorities did not say what sparked the brutal attack — but police were called to the home for domestic disputes seven times in recent years.
Neighbour Michael Simpson, 40, said he doesn't know Sanchez, and there was an estimated 50 people inside the house at all times.
"There's a lot of people coming and going all the time," Simpson said. "It's a big family. It's like six or seven kids. Their house is a revolving door."
