A 49-year-old woman from Hull, was left bed bound for a week with a hole in her ankle after having the names of grandchildren tattooed.
The tattoo quickly swelled up, forcing Sally to go to A&E, where she underwent surgery to stop the infection spreading to her bone.
Sally Lutkin said: 'It really upset me because it is something that I wanted just for me and it really did not turn out that way.
'I was in the hospital for a week and it was so difficult because it's the longest I've ever been away from my babies.
The grandmother of three added: 'It's put me off for life. I'd had tattoos before but I'll never have one again.
'I won't even risk getting the tattoo removed.
'No one is laying their hands on me ever again after this.'
