A carer has been filmed tipping his 'sleeping' patient out of a wheelchair face-first on to the road.
The incident was captured on driver Nigel Betts's dashcam while he was driving through Bridgwater, Somerset.
The 48-year-old was shocked when he saw the carer catch the wheelchair on a kerb, throwing the disabled pensioner toward the pavement.
Unfortunately, he wasn't able to see what happened to her as a car drove past at the exact moment of impact, blocking his dashcam's view.
Calling the driver 'careless', Nigel, a dad-of-two, said: 'I saw what happened straight away. I'm quite an observant driver so I wasn't just looking 2ft in front of my car and I noticed it.
'Because I was in the outside lane I wasn't really able to do anything about it. Luckily there was a lorry driver in the inside lane who did stop and get out and went to help them.'
The video, which was filmed at about 3.15pm in October, appears to show the woman asleep as she sits slumped in the wheelchair.
A spokesman for South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust said there was no record of an ambulance attending the incident.
