A man who was banned from having sex has been jailed for 16 months after a one night stand with a woman he met in a pub.
Geoffrey Ball, 45, was subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order, a legal restriction described as 'draconian but necessary' when it was placed on him.
He met the 50-year-old woman in a Yates's pub and began chatting to her and her daughter before going home to the woman's home in Middlesbrough and having sex.
The encounter was breach of the order and in court his barrister said he accepted he could not act like 'any normal person' because of the restriction.
Ball had a string of previous offences against women and was warned he must stay away from them unless he told them in full about his past crimes and notified his supervising police officer.
Ball has used a string of aliases to keep his identity a secret, and has repeatedly breached court orders designed to protect women.
Under the order he was banned from online dating sites and social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Tumblr.
The order – imposed in January 2015 – also prohibits him from having any sort of a relationship with women unless he first tells his supervising police officer.
Ball, has left a trail of victims in his history of offending – including one who attempted suicide.
